Awesome. Also outlaw Citizens United style election financing, outlaw gerrymandering, RE-up the voting rights act, and more.

Jake...as one of your constituents I stay on top of your newsletter posts and activities. I wholeheartedly

agree that #47 must be stopped. His only reason for wanting to be the Prez is to enrich himself. He sold a truckful of lies that his minions wanted to hear and thus won the election. Gather up the Dems and go after him and stop him....

Well said. I would suggest the addition of Campaign Finance Reform at all levels of government.

These are all terrific ideas. The question is where is the Democrats' equivalent of Project 2025 which would collect and codify these ideas for implementation?

We can start a Democracy project 2025 right now... we don't need to be in power to write a democracy roadmap! We don't need to be in power to promote it, sign up people to volunteer to be part of it, and gather together ALL the inspiration from all the wonderful pro-constitution, pro-democracy groups to contribute to it. We can write it up and get it going viral for all the world to see right now. If we can offer the American people a vision for our United States that rouses their deepest hopes and passions - the people will rise. If we shout it from the rooftops - the people will say it with their prayers. If we help people remember WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO LIVE IN A COUNTRY WITH A GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, AND FOR THE PEOPLE - it will be guiding light for all the world to follow AGAIN!

Help them remember:

-What it feels like to BE free to speak, to assemble, to love who you love, and for self determination.

- What truth is, and to restore integrity, character, and the nature of verifiable facts.

-What it feels like to BE safe - from abuse, violence, or harm, and know trust again.

-What it feels like to have opportunity, resources, and support to achieve your dreams.

-What it feels like to be of service, and have services that support your well-being & growth.

Help people deeply know again what it is to LOVE YOUR COUNTRY - AND give them a roadmap to TAKE ACTION to rebuild a bright and better future for our country and our children - AND WE THE PEOPLE WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE.

This is a brilliant start by Jake and all the collective voices here - millions are wanting to amplify their voices and the protests - All we need is a conduit and a gathering place to make it real! Please share suggestions and let's get it going! Shannon aka "Magic girl"

All great ideas - but how do democrats get anything done with no power - and 4 years to get thru! What is actually doable to stop this insanity?!?! Especially now SCOTUS is impotent.

Setting plans and charting a course is mandatory. Complaining does nothing.

If only... this had all been done during the last 4 years when Democrats had a chance of making it happen! What were they doing to protect us from this disaster? I know they were doing a ton of good stuff, but nothing to put up the guardrails, at least that I heard about.

It wasn’t doable because Manchin, Sinema, and the spineless Schimer.

The Citizens United decision turned our politics/government into a system of corporate bribery. In turn this attracts people to (non)public service who are already corrupt.

Honest question I don't know the answer to: how much of this could be done by statute without the current SCOTUS striking it down (given, for example, their recent de facto reversal of Humphrey's Executor), and how much would require either a constitutional amendment, a large shift in the composition of SCOTUS, or both?

All of this and more. Democrats must retake both Houses of Congress. Add repeal of Citizens Inited, restoration of pre-Reagan tax tables.

I agree with your assessment but why didn’t any of this happen during Biden’s term? We had just lived through Trump corruption, malfeasance and incompetence, yet the leaders ignored the warnings.

Good start. Let’s also champion a government of, by, and for the PEOPLE, as opposed to the corporations it now serves at the expense of those people. Since corporations are artifices that can only exist with the consent of the government (read: governed), it is appropriate that they be restrained as necessary by the governed.
