I live in Massachusetts’ 4th district. I have lived here since 1973. I am extremely proud of Auchincloss as our representative. He follows the tradition of Drinan, Frank, etc . I do not include Kennedy, who was an aberration. Like most old people, I always vote. Jake is destined for great things!

Please keep telling us more about the Majority Democrats - who they are and what steps are being taken. Sounds like a real way forward. The Bernie and AOC tours make headlines but also I think serve to support divisiveness. And the President's "show" in DC may make headlines, but will he follow up with actions to keep crime lower - more services and home rule to DC?

In my 30-plus-year career in public health, I've never heard an elected official who is extraordinarily well-informed about health & health care. Rep Auchinclos is what government public health organizations need to become strategically nimble in a time when liberal democracy is not a given.

The war is just getting started. We've been fighting battles throughout history and our own lives. Prepare yourselves because if we can’t finish the fight then it will be up to our children. The only question is are you ready?

the Democratic Party with the status quo. Until we demonstrate that we are willing to disrupt that status quo—not just by fighting Trump, but also by being willing to take on our own received orthodoxies as a party—we are not going to be able to earn back voters’ trust

Tell me how you are going to change "The status quo"

When you have Lizzy Warren, AOC and other squad members backing a Socialist Communist in NY? When the party behind Biden/Harris let in 10 million+ unvetted illegals with the open boarder policies costing US lives and billions of dollars, and the Dems did nothing(Thank God Trump is cleaning up that mess, with nothing but resistance from Dems)Joe Biden is sharp as a tack, don't believe you eyes,,,trust us...ya right. Kamala ran with 0 ideas, said she wouldn't change anything. Defending gang bangers, human traffickers and criminals. Men in Girls locker rooms and bathrooms is normal. Don't take away our Wasteful spending. Sitting down with our adversaries, and stopping wars/conflicts is a bad thing. We like our Crime on the streets, don't let Trump clean up our City. Peaceful protests which include paid professional thugs, and destroying property and injuring Police is OK. I could go on, and you Jake are smart enough to know that, but to save America and the Democratic Party you need to stand up and stop the destruction that is coming from your socialist far left Squad members and leaders.

The canary in the coal mine is in the New York City Mayor race. It is the all that you describe here that is wrong with both parties and America.

Those"adults" who could be dealing with all the issues you describe have "left the room". Many just focused on making more and more" money". You know Newton, MA well; look at all the senseless McMansions. for a family or 3?? because "no one" wants 2 much less 3 children..

Selfish to the extreme.

The maturity level in both parties has been hyjacked by ignorance. You only have to watch the TV or stream some senseless nonsense or your phone or the next podcast or blog or X or Instagram. Mindless activites that have numbed our young and even those over 70.

You are on the right track...keep at it. Don't give in..

And AI is just the latest drug that will only continue the downward spiral. As with Meta amd TikTok ..It's an algorithm with much too much "information" with the best example being AI evaluation of an X-Ray or MRI where it sees "things" a doctor cannot see, because it "sees" nonsense. And then from that comes a diagnose that says you have.. You can just pixelate to the point where you see so much that you really see nothing.

And you end up believing it. Like you believe your cell phone...and you end up with a fake world.

Breaking the link between home ownership and expectations of capital appreciation might be more important than zoning deregulation. Boom/busts in housing prices distorts local economies and reduces mobility. Here is one approach in Switzerland, and in NYC a more limited model with Mitchel Llama housing https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/26/realestate/switzerland-rental-coops-nonprofit-lausanne.html

I'd like to get your opinion on how to get big money out of politics when crypto, AI, social media, online retail, and ads companies have essentially unlimited money to spend defeating legislative proposals they disagree with.

Also, I'd like to hear you push for PV solar at least as hard as for nuclear. When a citizen can buy a solar panel for $100-150 and generate electricity for 10-20 years, isn't this a good thing? How can we get more of it, more easily?

On the down side of nuclear power, the nuclear waste issue seems similar to the climate effects of burning hydrocarbons. "The harm for a normal amount of energy is so small. We'll figure out how to handle it later. And so on." Climate change shows that the aggregate waste effect is large, our ability to deal with it is poor and insufficient, and the damage is real and ongoing. What if the same is true of nuclear power waste? Then do we swap climate effects from 0-250 years for nuclear power harms from 100-100,000 years? Who wants to make that bet?

You make some good points, but the addition of the National Guard in DC has been a resounding success. Those politicians in front of a camera will complain about an "invasion", but privately those same folks (and those living in those high crime areas) welcome the additional resources. Even Muriel Bowser is on board. If now we could only get the yahoo politicians in Illionois to accept help to clean up Chicago they'd be much better off.
